Ok, allow me to clarify. My concept for the group was something akin to the Tuskegee Airmen. Their escort squadron was form because of pressure from the Presidents wife and a need for another squadron. No one would fly with them because they were black and as the beliefs of the time was that blacks were inferior. The Tuskegee Airmen became so good at their job that they started being requested by the white bomber pilots. Some wouldn't even do their bombing runs unless the 332nd was with them. In the 6 years of their existence and flying over 15000 sorties, they only lost 25 bombers.
